LEVITICUS 8-10

CHAPTER 5

This chapter contains the process involved in sorting out sins such as:
A. When a soul takes an action in violation of a known oath
B. If he has touched an uncleaness of man.
C. If a soul has touched an unclean animal etc…
He brings hisntrespass offering:
A lamb, a kid of a goat, and atonement is u dertaken by the proest for him.
For the poor alternate animals such as turtle dove or pigeon is required.

The above was followed with atonement for sin of ignorance which entails ram without blemish, and even estimation price 20% in terms of shekels of silver. All these will free the fellow from consequences of the sin of ignorance.

CHAPTER 6
This chapter contains the trespass offering in the case of a stolen property. This offering entails a ram without blemish, full restitution of what was stolen and accompanied with 20% interest surcharge on the case. The Priest shall make the necessary atonement for the fellow concerned.

Other laws in this chapter include law of offerings, burnt offering, law of meat offering, law of daily meat offering, all these are fully recorded in their meticulous details.

CHAPTER 7
In this chapter of Leviticus, the law of trespass offering which is most holy is what the chapter was opened with the following details:
A. The place where they kill the burnt offering is where they will kill the trespass offering.
B. The Priest shall sprinkle the blood around the altar.
C. The fat thereof with other components shall be burnt on the altar.
D. Male priests shall eat thereof.
Other portions of the priest in the meat offering and other offerings were also explained in this chapter.

The above is followed by :
A. The Law of peace offering.
B. The law against eating of get and blood.
This chapter was rounded off with details of the portion of the Priests in various offerings.

LEVITICUS CHAPTER 8.

God spoke to Moses and said:
A. Take Moses and His sons
B. Take the garments and
C. Take the ANOINTING oil.
D. A bullock, ram and a basket of unleavened bread.

Those were the materials needed for the consecration ceremony of Aaron and His sons as Priests respectively. Right before the whole congregation of the people of God,:
Moses anointed the Tabernacle, the altar, Aaron and His sons, with other processes undertaken, Moses did as The Lord had instructed him.

There is a record of offerings for Priests, inclusive of sin offerings, burnt offerings, other issues such as consecration ram, wave offering,anointing of Priests, the seven days period of consecration and separation of newly consecrated Priests, etc are also covered in this chapter.

LEVITICUS CHAPTER 9

In the area of ministry of Priests, at the end of the seven days separation and consecration, Moses brought Aaron and His sons together and offered a sin offering and a burnt offering on their behalf.
This chapter also chronicled the six different offerings for people.
It is note worthy that after these offer I be the glory of the Lord came down as thenofferings were accepted by fire.

LEVITICUS CHAPTER 10.
In this chapter there is a record of the unwholesome activities of the sons of Aaron- Nadab and Abihu. They offered a strange fire that the Lord had not commanded.
immidiately the fire of God came down and they were killed.
Moses immidiately spoke about the warning that God had been giving saying, whoever comes to Him must sanctify himself.
Aaron and His two remaining sons- Eliezer and Ithama were warned not to MOURNED the departed rebels in fact they’d are not to step out of the congregational hall so that they don’t die.

This was followed with laws of against strong drink and neglect of duty.
Meat offering was to be eaten in the most holy place by the Priests. The portion of Priests portion for their families from the various offerings and gifts brought by people was well documented too.
Finally, in the light of the sudden death of Nadab end Abihu, there was a slight confusion among the Priests as recorded in verses sixteen to twenty, but Moses handled it with maturity a d wisdom.
LESSONS:
These six chapters contain lots and lots of lessons.
A. God demands total obedience hence the meticulous details of the various offerings.
B. Ministering to the Lord on behalf of people and vice versa is quite dangerous and in fact it’s a matter of life and death.
C. Every genuine mi usher will be well taken care of by His commission as…THE ALMIGHTY GOD.
All it requires is total obedience and diligence.
