Leviticus is the third book of Moses that contains twenty seven chapters and eight hundred and verses. This is the book that presents the the detailed laws regarding worship of God by His people.
It is all about the holiness of God and the separated lifestyle people of God are expected to live.

In chapter one:
A. God spoke to Moses to demand for an offering from the people for Him the Almighty God.
B The offering could either be a burnt offering which is made of male herd.
C. Or it is made of the bullocks, like sheep, goat etc..it shall be a male..
D. On either occasions, the animals shall be without blemish.
E. On either case the hand will be layed on the animal and is killed at the entrance of the tabernacle.

But the offering could also be of birds such as turtledoves or young pigeons and the process of killing and defeathering are all stated.

LESSON:
Everyone is expected to bring an offering irrespective of their socio economic status.
Those who can afford a big animal like a bullock or cow, others who could only afford a sheep or goat yet others who could only afford a pigeon.

LEVITICUS CHAPTER 2

In chapter two, the first focus is on meat or better still ‘food’ offering rather than animal offering that it might be wrongly assumed to be.
This type of offering requires that oil and frankincense be poured on it and a small portion is burnt on the altar while the remaining is given to the projects for consumption as food.

This chapter also contains the details about unleveaned baked pan cakes, unlearned frying pan cakes. This flour meal offering made baked with oil shall be brought to the Lord. A portion of it will be taken by the priest and and burn it upon the altar as a sweet smelling savour to the Lord.
The law concerning the offering of first fruit to the Lord is also contained in this chapter.

LESSON:
Our God is interested in the details of what is offered to him. Pure animals, purely packaged etc.
This should further teach every child of God about the holiness acc of God.

LEVITICUS CHAPTER 3
In this chapter attention is focused on the PEACE OFFERING.
A. It is made of any one of these three different animals…CATTLE, LAMB AND GOAT…
B. The process of killing is the same.
…….hand layed on the animal
…….it is killed at the door of the tabernacle..
…….The priests comprising of Aaron and His sons will sprinkle the blood
…….The fat and the kidney and a few other inner organs are set on fire on the wood of the altar.
…….This is the sweet smelling savour to the Lord.

LESSON:
The three different animals are representative of social status thereby making every one to be able to offer Peace offering whenever It is required.

LEVITICUS CHAPTER 4

The offering for sin committed in ignorance by individuals is the focus of this chapter at the beginning. A bullock is required for this sacrifice. It is brought to the door of the tabernacle and the hand layed on it before it is killed.
All the fat, kidneys, liver etc are to be brought apart and burnt on the altar of burnt offering.
And the whole bullock is taken outside the camp time clean place where the ashes are poured out.
Secondly, there is also a law regarding the the sin of ignorance of the people. A bullock is required in this case and the process of sacrifice is the same.
But for the ruler who commits the sin of ignorance a goat is required for sin offering to atone for the leaders sin, killed in similar way the fats thereof also belongs to the Lord.
When it is the people’s sin of ignorance it’s a female goat or lamb that is required for atonement.

LESSON:
In every sacrifice, God’s portion is set on fire on the altar, one major reason why fire should never cease on the apart.
This lesson point has a great implication for our spiritual life today.

PRAY AS YOU ARE LED.
MAY ALL YOUR SACRIFICES NOT BE IN VAIN IN JESUS S NAME.
