Topic: Potency of Spiritual Awakening 1
Text: Zechariah 4:1-7
“.. Now the angel who ‘talked with me came back and wakened me, as a man who is wakened out of his sleep. [2] And he said to me, “What do you see?” So I said, “I am looking, and there is a lamp stand of solid gold with a bowl on top of it, and on the stand seven lamps with seven pipes to the seven lamps. [3] Two olive trees are by it, one at the right of the bowl and the other at its left.” [4] So I answered and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying, “What are these, my lord?” [5] Then the angel who talked with me answered and said to me, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.” [6] So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts. [7] ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”
Greetings of earth shaking revival to you our much valued and esteemed reader and friend wherever you are connecting with us for today’s firerised feast of the word and prayer.
It is written in Genesis 28:16….
” Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.”
But unlike Jacob, as regards you and every situation of your life, you will not miss the reality of divine intervention.
God will activate His awesome presence and power to confound every contrary situation of your life and give you upper hand in every battle in the wonder working name of Jesus.
Our attention today is on spiritual awakening.
In our scriptural reference above the Prophet Zechariah said the angel woke him up like somebody who was sleeping!!!! THIS IS AN EXPLOSIVE STATEMENT HERE!!!.
What the angel did is to give the Prophet an injection of spiritual awakening. The phenomenon called spiritual awakening refers clear and sudden awareness of the spiritual configuration of your environment.
Living your life based only on physical sight and knowledge is likened to sleeping spiritually, unless the fellow is woken up the full manifestation of his destiny might elude him!!!.
Like we read above, spiritual awakening entails:
1. The opening of spiritual eyes to see things that are invisible to ordinary eyes.(Rev 4:1, Matthew 17:1-7)
2. When experiencing spiritual awakening, ears are opened to hear otherwise inaudible spiritual conversations. That’s what the word meant when it was written in Revelation 3:13 amongst many other places that whoever has ears let him hear.
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
3. Further more spiritual awakening is characterized by boldness in confronting any and every form of evil in addition to preaching the gospel with power and confounding on lookers even as it was on the day of Pentecost.
4. Spiritual awakening may also be accompanied with signs and wonders such as was recorded by Peter and John in Acts 3:1-7.
As it was then, signs and wonders are still being recorded today. I believe you are the next on the line to make this fact known to your generation.
5. Spiritual awakening has a way of expanding and enlarging ones capacity to endure hardship or and persecution as the case may be even as a good soldier of Christ. (II Timothy 2:3) This very fact can be see in the life of Stephen (Acts 7:55).
6. Beloved did you notice also that it took spiritual awakening for Zechariah to understand and correctly interpret what he saw. Understanding is what gives you upper hand and makes you outstanding in life.(Proverbs 4:7).
PONDER SERIOUSLY ON THIS MATTER AND PRAY ABOUT. MAY YOU NOT MISS YOUR SEASON OF VISITATION AND AWAKENING IN JESUS’ NAME.
Let us pray.
1. Proverbs 1:23- Father I adore and worship you for your determination to make your word known to me through this firerised nuggets, thanks a lot sir in Jesus’ name.
2. Isaiah 43:19- Father in your infinite mercy, do a new spiritual awakening in my life, let it spring forth now in Jesus’ name.
3. John 15:15- Father awaken me from physical to spiritual realm and make known to me the totality of your will and counsel in the mountain removing name of Jesus.
4. Matthew 17:1-7- Father, in the order of Mount of transfiguration show me multiple wonders that I never knew before in Jesus’ name.
5. Acts 10:34- Father, since you are not a respecter of persons, in the order of Peter here, let immediate signs and wonders follow me and my ministry henceforth much more than ever before in Jesus’ name.
6. Zechariah 4:1-2- Father open my eyes to see the angel that you have sent to me to usher me to the next stage of my exploits for your glory alone in Jesus’ name.
