Topic: How Do You Respond To The Enemy’s Threats?
Text: II Kings 1:9-15

[9] Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty men. So he went up to him; and there he was, sitting on the top of a hill. And he spoke to him: “Man of God, the king has said, ‘Come down!’ ” [10] So Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, “If I am a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men.” And fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty. [11] Then he sent to him another captain of fifty with his fifty men. And he answered and said to him: “Man of God, thus has the king said, ‘Come down quickly!’ ” [12] So Elijah answered and said to them, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men.” And the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty. [13] Again, he sent a third captain of fifty with his fifty men. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and pleaded with him, and said to him: “Man of God, please let my life and the life of these fifty servants of yours be precious in your sight. [14] Look, fire has come down from heaven and burned up the first two captains of fifties with their fifties. But let my life now be precious in your sight.” [15] And the angel of the Lord said to Elijah, “Go down with him; do not be afraid of him.” So he arose and went down with him to the king.”

Greetings of divine faithfulness to you dearly beloved reader and friend wherever you may be connecting with us for today’s feast of wonders in the word and prayers worldover.

Based on the infallible word of God in II Thessalonians 3:3

” But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.”

We passionately pray for you that:
The ever faithful and covenant keeping God of Israel will establish you spiritually.
God will make you immovable for the enemy financially and maritally too.
You shall be guarded from all forms of evil in the mountain demolishing name of Jesus. AMEN AND AAAMEN.

In the last two editions we have learned from Hezekiah, and David in terms of their individual responses to the threats of their enemies. But in this third edition of this sensitive issue we are focusing on the response of Elijah the Tishbite.

In our scriptural reference above, King Ahaziah was sick as a result of the injury he sustained when the Moabites invaded his place and he fell from the lattice of his upper room.
He then sent messengers to go and en quire from Baal-zebbub whether he will survive or not.

God asked Elijah to way lay the messengers and tell them that the king will surely die for not enquiring from God of israel but from an idol.
When he was told he got angry and sent soldiers to go and arrest Elijah.
What happened next was unexpected.
#…The soldiers came to bring Elijah down.
#…Their mandate was to put an end to his ministry.
#…They shouted the order of the King as soon as they arrived.
#…The King of Kings who answers by fire intervened at the voice of his servant.
#…One hundred and two officers were roasted by fire instantly even as they appeared.
#….God asked Elijah to follow them when the leader of the third team came and acknowledged the hand of God.

Beloved, you have a choice to make in every threatening situation. Elijah had no temperament for nonsense, you should not either.

Similarly, you need to remember that whatever you allow will be allowed and whatever you disallow will not stand. TAKE A STAND AGAINST ANY FOR OF THREAT am And INTIMIDATION NOW.

REMEMBER THAT:
1. Elijah was not at the same level with his arresters, rather he was on top of the mountain, acquire the fire by being a dweller on the mountain and not a visitor.
2. His position gave him an advantage over his pursuers.
3. His faith in the God he served was living and active.
4. The man had prepared himself before the day of his attempted arrest. Pray and prepare ahead
5. ELIJAH WAS VERY SURE OF HIMSELF AND HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS GOD.

PONDER ON ALL THESE DIMENSIONS AND PERSPECTIVES AND PRAY ABOUT THIS MATTER.
