Topic: The Power of Sacrifice
Text: Genesis 8:20-22
” And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. [21] And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. [22] While the earth remaineth, seed-time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”
Greeting of enlargement to you dear reader and friend wherever you may be connecting with us for today’s refreshing feast of the word and prayers worldover.
We believe that the prayer of Jabez which is recorded for our benefit in I Chronicles 4:10 and quoted below is relevant at this point.
” And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.”
Inspiring us to pray that:
God will enlarge your coast extraordinarily
Evidence of blessing indeed will be seen in every area of your life.
The everlasting hand of God will be with you
And you will be kept from all evils and nothing good will be kept from you in the wonderful name of Jesus. AMEN & AAAMEN.
Today we are sharing on the Power of Sacrifice.
Sacrifice in this context refers to what is valuable to you that you surrendered and offered to God Almight to seek His face.
In our scriptural reference above we discovered that after Noah survived the flood he offered a special sacrifice to God that made a superb impact. Let’s look at some of them:
A. God smelt a sweet savour
B. God made some outstanding promises
C. God entered into a new covenant with Noah
D. God decided never to allow flood to overtake the earth and its inhabitants anymore.
This is not the only example of acceptable sacrifice in the word of God.
In II Chronicles 7:1-2
” Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house. [2] And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD’s house.”
Sequel to the dedication of the temple by Solomon the glory of the Lord engulfed the house of God and even the Priests could not minister because the glory of the Lord God of Israel had filled the temple.
Then God spoke and made some promises, among them are:
#….That He has chosen the temple to make His presence felt.
#…God said His eyes will be there in the house.
#….God promised to establish the throne of King Solomon as He had promised David his father.
#…God also warned against sin and backsliding.
In addition to the above in I Kings 3:1-10. The word of God recorded how Solomon gave a thousand sacrifices and God visited him in a dream and asked him to demand for whatever he wanted.
Even though many people are ignorant of this fact, but the ultimate power of sacrifice is that it provokes God and makes Him to speak.
With sacrifice that sends sweet smelling savour to heaven:
A. God can make very great promises to you.
B. God can make a new covenant with you.
C. God can give you a plain cheque.
D. God can speak concerning your unborn children even up to many generations.
E. God can issue special warning against sin.
DO YOU WANT GOD TO SPEAK? THEN OFFER A SPECIAL SACRIFICE TO GOD TODAY.
PONDER ON THIS MATTER, PRAY AND PRACTICE THIS SECRET.

6. Jeremiah 33:11- Father, let the voice of thanksgiving and gladness multiply in my home to your glory my father in Jesus’ name.
