Topic: The Myth of Runing Away From God
Text: Jonah 1:2-3, Psalm 139:7-12.
” Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. [3] But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.”
” Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? [8] If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: If I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. [9] If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; [10] Even there shall thy hand lead me, And thy right hand shall hold me. [11] If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; Even the night shall be light about me. [12] Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; But the night shineth as the day: The darkness and the light are both alike to thee.”
Greetings of divine compensation to you dearly beloved reader and friend wherever you are joining us for today’s feast of the word and prayer worldover.
On the infallible authority of Genesis 15:1 :
” After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.”
We believe and decree that The Almighty God of Israel will henceforth subdue every source of fear totally for your sake.
The Jehovah overdo will shield you from shame
Divine garment of favour will avail for you.
Your life will attract unfathomable divine compensation in Jesus’ name.AMEN & AAAMEN.
Today we are sharing briefly on The Myth of Running Away From God. When we read in our scriptural reference above that God sent Jonah to Nineveh and he ran from God’s presence to go to Tarshish, I just smiled at the joke inherent in the man’s believe that he could run away from God’s presence. Run from who?
God responded to Jonah’s stubbornness by:
A. Sending a mega storm to derail the man’s journey to no-where.
B. Compelling the sea men to throw Jonah into the sea.
C. Instructing the fish to swallow him and yet not digest the body of the run away prophet.
D. After he had prayed God told the fish to go and vomit the man on the river bank in Nineveh where he was runing away from in the first instance!!!. ALL HAIL THE GOD OF ALL FLESH.
It is impossible to run away from God, if God does not want to deal with you, well, you can pretend to be runing away from THE MOST HIGH. IT A MYTH TO RUN AWAY FROM GOD.
Is it not written as we read in our second scriptural reference that:
A. There is nowhere to run away and hide from God.
B. If anyone goes to hide in the heavens, that’s where God’s throne is, according to Isaiah 66:1.
C. Even if you hide under the earth in hell. God is there.
D. Darkness does not hide anything from our God. He knows what is in the darkness and light dwells in Him. (Daniel 2:22) WAO!!!
HOW MEN PRETEND TO HIDE FROM GOD.
1. Some people try to run away from God by keeping away from church and abstaining from anything spiritual. They claim they are the owners of their time.!!! IGNORANCE AT ITS PEAK.
2. Some others run away from God financially, refusing to pay tithe, others are simply the enemy of any type of giving!!!
3. Some others have decided to run away from God regarding their family matter, contented with their own way of running their family contrary to God’s guidance. You can’t keep what God created from the creator. IT’S A MYTH.
Beware, dear reader it is not possible and neither is it profitable to run away from God who will eventually judge all humanity on the day of reckoning.
Live your life clearly before God and stop any form of truancy. Its in your best interest.
Proverbs 4:26 says:
” Ponder the path of thy feet, And let all thy ways be established.”
Don’t comport yourself like the elders of Israel who were doing evil and thought it was hidden from God as we read in Ezekiel 8:12 as follows:
” Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.”
PONDER ON THIS MATTER AND PRAY SERIOUSLY ABOUT IT.

5. Psalm 16:11- Father don’t let me miss the path of life and mercifully uphold me with your righteous spirit in the name of Jesus.
6. Jeremiah 2:1-2- Father let the word of divine remembrance come through for me, let my little efforts of the time past come forth for abundant divine rewards in Jesus’ name.
