Topic: Lamentations & Warnings of Jesus 2
Text: Mark 4:35-41.
” And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. [36] And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. [37] And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. [38] And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? [39] And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. [40] And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? [41] And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
Greetings of divine faithfulness to you our esteemed reader and friend wherever you are connecting with us for today’s edition of your revival provoking feast of the word and prayers worldover.
In this second part of the topic we are looking at the masters lamentation about lack of faith by his disciples and this position of the master is still valid today. We have the paradox of unbelieving believers worldover, the scourge of faithless faithful has done many incalculable damage to the body of Christ, such as:
#…Reducing the demonstration of the power of God in today’s church.
#…Rendering prayers ineffective
#….Making the enemy of the church to ask in many places where is their God?
#…Opening the body of Christ to more attacks and serious embarrassment such as we read in Matthew 17:15-17. YOU SHOULD BE DETERMINED NOT TO BE PART OF SUCH SPIRITUAL DISORDER.
In our scriptural reference above:
A. The disciples were faced with a serious storm
B. They were confused and frightened
C. Then woke the master up with a negative comment of ” don’t you care if we perish”.
D. The master lamented saying two things:
….the danger of being fearful
….the indispensable nature of faith
The master then rebuked the storm and set the calmness in motion.
Beloved, negative fear is the most destructive arrow that the enemy usually send against believers to destabilise and disorient them in order to overcome their defense and torment them, the word says fear has torment(I John 4:18). Fear is synonymous with spiritual failure.
It is also passing a vote of no confidence in God and choosing to trust the devil!!!
Faith on the other hand:
#…Helps you to please God(Hebrews 11:6).
#…Faith helps you to move mountain.(Matthew 21:21).
#…Faith turns your word to a decree(Job 22:28)
Beloved reader, feed your faith and starve your doubt so that you can grow up spiritually and obtain upper hand in every battle. How?
By engaging in:
1. Serious and deep study of the word of God.(II Peter 3:18)
2. Fervent prayers especially in the spirit.(Jude 1:20).
3. Active and fruitful relationship with other believers who will help you to grow.(Proverbs 27:17).
Beloved until and unless you grow spiritually your life will keep attracting lamentations from Jesus rather than commendations.May your case not be like that in Jesus’ name.
PONDER ON THIS MATTER AND PRAY ABOUT IT.
