Topic: Dangers of Indifference
Text: Luke 16:19-23, Jude 1:22.
” There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: [20] and there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, [21] and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. [22] And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; [23] and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.”
” And of some have compassion, making a difference:”
Greetings of limitless grace to you our much valued and cherished reader and friend wherever you may be connecting with us for today’s edition of your firerised feast of the word and prayer worldover.
Because it is written in Zechariah 4:7, that:
” Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.”
Greater grace for leveling great mountains will rest on you right now.
Every obstacle before you is turning to a stepping stone to mighty miracles as you read this piece.
Therefore enter into your season of multiple testimonies henceforth in Jesus’ name. AMEN & AAAMEN.
Today’s edition is focused on dangers of indifference. When somebody is indifferent it means lack of interest, concern or sympathy.
An unconcerned person feigns ignorance, rigidity and aloofness.
In our scriptural reference above we read about the rich man and the poor sore infested and tormented Lazarus.
The rich man was totally indifferent to the plight of Lazarus who was at his gate and did as if it was not his concern irrespective of the situation of Lazarus his neighbour.
Indifferent people tend to lack compassion and are unable to empathize with their needy neighbour.
Indifference could also be traced to pride of self-sufficiency and deceitfulness of riches. All of which we have been warned of by the word of God.(Proverbs 18:23; II Corinthians 3:5; Mark 4:19)
Looking at the word of God quoted above, indifference:
#1…Turned the rich man to a beggar after his tenure on earth. A SORT OF REVERSAL OF ROLE BETWEEN HIM AND THE BEGGAR.
#2…Indifference sentenced him to a place in hell
#3….Consequence of indifference suddenly turned the man to an evangelist who wanted to come back to this world for missions to his brothers and relatives!!!! This was a man who was indifferent to everything and everybody except his wealth while on earth.
Many people today are so guilty that:
A. They don’t know their neighbour who is dying in sin.
B. They are indifferent to people around them who are dying of hunger.
C. Others are unconcerned about those who could be assisted with even words of encouragement.
WAKE UP AND BE COMPASSIONATE SO YOU COULD MAKE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE.
PONDER ON THIS MATTER AND PRAY ABOUT IT.
