Text: Daniel 6:1-3, 10
” It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;
[2] and over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.
[3] Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
[10] Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.”
Greetings of divine honour and lifting to you our esteemed reader and friend wherever you are connecting with us for today’s edition of your revival provoking feast of the word and prayers worldover.
We activate the power in Psalm 3:3 which says:
” But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; My glory, and the lifter up of mine head.”
To pray that:
Father, shield every reader of this write up from every end of year calamities.
Overshadow each person with your glory and lift up their head and put a new song in their mouth in Jesus’ name. AMEN & AAAMEN.
Today’s edition is focused on Daniel: Spirituality, Skillfulness and Diligence, an UNBEATABLE COMBINATION, RIGHT?
Daniel was brought to Babylon after God gave Jehoiakim the king of Judah and his people into the hand of Nebuchadbezer sequel to a siege.
Daniel never forgot who he was and held on to the teachings he was given by his parents(remember that Daniel was a youth) regarding the mighty God of Israel.
This is the foundation of his greatness-HIS SPIRITUALITY AND RESILIENCE.
Determined to serve the tripple holy God of Israel in holiness brought him into a clash with the established order in the Kings palace in Babylon (Daniel 1:8) HE TOOK A RISK FOR GOD.
LESSONS:
#1… Retain what you have been taught about the God of Israel.
#2….Apply it wherever you go, speak up for God and maintain His holy standards.
God responded by making him ten times better than his mates as it is written in Daniel 1:20 that:
” And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.”
Daniel became a major problem solver and solution provider in the land of Babylon. Using the knowledge of God skillfully, With a skill kit made up of:
A. Problem solving skills.
B. Human relationship skills.
C. Public speaking skills, etc.
Daniel 2:19 KJV
[19] Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.”
It was the revelation of this secret that brought Daniel out of oblivion into limelight in Babylon.
The threat of death hanging over the lives of the wisemen of the land was vacated and Daniel was promoted. THE SKILLS HAVE STARTED SPEAKING AND POSITIONING DANIEL.
Thirdly, Daniel added DILIGENCE to the first two qualities (spirituality and skillfulness). Beloved the principle of continuous addition of virtues can be seen in 2 Peter 1:5-8.
” And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; [6] and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; [7] and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. [8] For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Permit me to describe diligence in a nutshell:
Diligence combines creative persistence,with a smart working efforts rightly planned and rightly performed in a timely, efficient and effective manner to attain a result that is pure and of highest quality of excellence.
It was this combination of SPIRITUALITY, WITH SKILLFULNESS AND DILIGENCE that made Daniel an excellent technocrat who became first among equals!!!
The year is gradually rounding off, how have you performed thus far in your calling and purpose.
You can set a new goal now for the coming year to be an excellent person spiritually and in all you do. Achievers don’t wait till new year before they plan for the year, rather they do it as the old year rounds off.
PONDER ON THIS MATTER AND PRAY FOR GRACE.
