Topic: The Significance of Phinehas Ministry
Text: Numbers 25: 6-10
” And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. [7] And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand; [8] and he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel. [9] And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand. [10] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,”
Greetings of fulness of joy to you our esteemed reader and friend wherever you are connecting with us for today’s edition of your firerised feast of the word and prayers worldover.
In the light of the word of God in Psalm 16:11 says:
” Thou wilt shew me the path of life: In thy presence is fulness of joy; At thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
Divine path of life will not be hidden from you.
Spiritually you will maximally enjoy fulness of joy
In every area you will relish and savour pleasures at Gods right hand in Jesus’ name. AMEN & AAAMEN.
Today we are focusing on The Significance of Phinehas Ministry. This man happened to be a grand son of Aaron who was born by Eleazar.
Reading through the whole chapter twenty fifth especially from verse one to five will reveal how:
#1….Isreal committed immorality with women of Moab and prostituted with them.
#2….God saw that the people also bowed to their idol and offered sacrifices to it.
#3….Israel also ate the food offered to idol. You will remember that it was this type of food that Daniel kept away from and God made him ten times better than his mates.
God then decided to judge the people and we saw that, judgement started from their leaders.
Thousands had already died and the whole congregation of God’s people were mourning and asking God for mercy when the event in our scriptural reference above took place.
A. An Israelite named Zimri, THE SON OF A LEADER brought into the tent a midianite lady to commit immorality with her openly before every one including Moses!!!.What a calamity, what a disaster!!!
Take a look at Numbers 25:14 (AMP)
” Now the name of the man of Israel who was killed with the Midianite woman was Zimri the son of Salu, a leader of a father’s household among the Simeonites.”
Immidiately Phinehas took a javelin and drove it through the two of them killing them instantly and the anger of God subsided and God rewarded him with a very special covenant.
The plague took about twenty four thousand lives.
THE SIGNIFICANCE OF PHINEHAS ACTION.
A. What angers God must also get you angry if you are still a child of God. Whatever makes God happy should make you happy. If this is not so, you have lost your salvation, turn to God now in utter penitence and ask for mercy.
It is disheartening to see so called children of God delighting in what God hates with passion.
B. You must passionately love God to such an extent that you will be jealous for him and be willing to stake everything for His kingdom.
C. What a terrible action in righteousness are you willing to take to defend Gods holiness, the integrity of His word and His Kingdom at large?
D. A singular action in defence of God’s holiness earned a man a multigenerational covenant with the Almighty God of Israel. We should be challenged frontally to check the barometer of our love for God.
PONDER ON THIS MATTER AND PASSIONATELY PRAY ABOUT IT.

6. Numbers 11:5-Father destroy every remnant of evil appetite of Egypt in the life of every member of my family and don’t allow my family members to offend you in Jesus’ name.
7. Exodus 12:38-Father, every member of the mix multitude hiding in and polluting your church with evil appetite, fish them out and finish them Lord, in Jesus’ name.
8. PRAY IN THE SPIRIT FERVENTLY AND SERIOUSLY NOW.
