Topic: “..But By My Spirit..” 1
Text: Zechariah 4:1-9
” Now the angel who talked with me came back and wakened me, as a man who is wakened out of his sleep. [2] And he said to me, “What do you see?” So I said, “I am looking, and there is a lampstand of solid gold with a bowl on top of it, and on the stand seven lamps with seven pipes to the seven lamps. [3] Two olive trees are by it, one at the right of the bowl and the other at its left.” [4] So I answered and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying, “What are these, my lord?” [5] Then the angel who talked with me answered and said to me, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.” [6] So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts. [7] ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!” ’ ” [8] Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying: [9] “The hands of Zerubbabel Have laid the foundation of this temple; His hands shall also finish it. Then you will know That the Lord of hosts has sent Me to you.”
Greetings of wonders without number to you beloved reader and friend wherever you are connecting with us for today’s fresh feast of the word and prayers worldover.
Because the scripture cannot be broken as we have it in John 10:35
” If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken)”
You will prevail over every travail and you will never be made a prey.
Your star will shine irrespective of the situation
You will rule among your enemies even if they are numerous.
Those who have laughed at you will be compelled to laugh with you in Jesus’ name. AMEN & AAAMEN.
Today we are sharing on the first part of the topic ” But by my spirit..”.
The background to this prophetic statement is worth learning from.
Firstly Solomon loved the Lord and built a massive temple for the worship of God and service to His Kingdom. During dedication God warned Solomon and his people that even though He heard and answered their prayers but the matter has to do with continuity of righteousness and that if they turn away from the path of uprightness He will destroy the temple. Let’s read it here below:
“But if you turn away and forsake My statutes and My commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods, and worship them, [20] then I will uproot them from My land which I have given them; and this house which I have sanctified for My name I will cast out of My sight, and will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples. [21] “And as for this house, which is exalted, everyone who passes by it will be astonished and say, ‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land and this house?’ [22] Then they will answer, ‘Because they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and embraced other gods, and worshiped them and served them; therefore He has brought all this calamity on them.”
Why did they turn away and what did they turned to after turning away from God?
A. They embraced other gods
B. They worshipped them
C. They served them.
What did God do?
A. God uprooted them from HIS LAND
B. He empowered the Babylonians to take them captive.
The following lessons are imperative meditational issues for the wise.
A. What are you turning to that is making God jealous and angry with you?
B. The land (your physical location) is God’s own
C. The land in terms of the good of the land like good job or work also belongs to God. Every good and perfect gift is from God.
D. Whatever takes the place of God in your life is endangering your life very seriously.
E. Your problem is nothing to God it is your sin that is strenghtening the hand of the adversary against you.
Romans 8:31 says very clearly:
” What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Our humble advise is that you should not stand up against yourself. DO EVERYTHING TO STAY ON THE SIDE OF GOD.
SO WHO IS ON THE LORD’S SIDE AFTER READING THIS PIECE? WHOEVER THINKS HE IS STANDING SHOULD TAKE HEED LEST HE FALLS…
PONDER ON THIS MATTER AND PRAY ABOUT IT.
