Topic: Upholding You By The Power of His Word.
Text: Hebrews 1:1-3
” God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, [2] hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; [3] who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;”
Greetings of fullness of joy to you beloved reader and friend wherever you are connecting with us for today’s edition of your firerised feast of the word and prayers worldover.
According to the living word of God in 1 John 1:4
” And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.”
We are believing God for you that:
You will never loose your joy of salvation.
In every area of your life your joy shall be full.
Sorrow is banished and kept far away from you.
Regularly your strength shall multiplied by reason of joy of the Lord in Jesus’ name. AMEN & AAAMEN.
Today’s focus is on ” Upholding You By The Power of His Word.” Every product owes its existence to it’s manufacturer for:
***Maintenance through servicing.
***For repair or replacement of spare parts.etc.
Similarly, as creatures of God, the most high who formed us and knew us even when we were in our mothers womb, and anointed us individually for specific purposes, and according to our scriptural reference above upholds all things by the power of His word.
You need divine sustenance to live, and fulfill God’s purpose on this planet earth.
For instance in Matthew chapter four and verse eleven after the devil had finished tempting Jesus, angels came to minister to him and sustain him.
” Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him…”
Similarly when the saviour was about to round off his earthly ministry, and went to the mountain top to pray, after he had prayed his sweat was like drops of blood and angels came and ministered to him. See it in Luke.22:43 as follows:
” And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.”
Beloved if God the son needed to be ministered to, you need to be upheld also and sustained by your creator.
Our reference above tells us God upholds all things by the word of His power. How?
HOW THE WORD UPHOLDS GOD’S PEOPLE.
This comes to full manifestation in more ways than one. A few instances will suffice for now.
1. God upholds His own person by the nutrition of His word. The word of God is likened to food in many places in the Bible.l, such as:
*** Bread (John 6:35)
*** Milk…(I Peter 2:2)
***Water which represents life(Ephesians 5:26)
2. Another avenue of divine sustenance is the word of hope which is an undeniable anchor. Hebrews 6:19 made this clear as follows:
” which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;”
3. The Power of correction and or approval inherent in the word of God is another source of sustenance for the saint of God. This is stated in
2 Timothy 3:16 as follows:
” All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
4. Finally on this note, the word of God which is likened to fire can sustain and uphold the saint. When the firerised word goes into your bone as it was for Jeremiah, what you get is consistent walk with God irrespective of what or how the flesh feels.Jeremiah 20:9
.
” Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.”
As the festivities are fast approaching and the year rounds off, there is a serious need for us to seek God’s face for sustenance by His word, may God not abandon you dear reader in Jesus’ name.
PONDER ON THIS MATTER AND PRAY ABOUT IT.

1. Jude 1:24-Father you are worthy to be worshipped for you are more than able to keep me to the end. Be glorified Lord in Jesus’ name.
2. II Corinthians 3:5- Father, I am not sufficient of my self but my sufficiency is of you, mercifully continue to be my sufficiency all my life in Jesus’ name.
3. Hebrews 1:3- Father, uphold me by your word of life, and establish my feet upon the rock of your word to stay in Jesus’ name.
4. Jeremiah 20:9-Father, uphold me and refill my bones with your fresh fire for continuous relevance and ultimate destiny fulfillment in Jesus’ name.
5. John 5:35-Father, by your fresh bread of life, please uphold me and help me to please you all my life in Jesus’ name.
6. II Timothy 3:16- Father by the full ministry of the word including corrective component of the word, mercifully uphold me to your glory in the wonderful name of Jesus’ name.
