Topic: Don’t Limit God with Laughter of Derison
Text: Genesis 17:17-19
” Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? [18] And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! [19] And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.”
Greetings destiny fulfilment to you our dear reader and friend wherever you are connecting with us for today’s edition of your firerised feast of the word and prayers worldover.
In Jeremiah 1:5 it is written:
” Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
The God of all flesh will reveal your next area of exploits to you and speedily too.
The Lord’s ordination over your life will be fully manifested, demonstrated and fulfilled.
The Lord God of all flesh will glorify Himself in every area of your life in Jesus’name. AMEN & AAAMEN.
Today we are focusing on ‘ Don’t Limit God with Laughter of Derison’. You are aware that, a laughter of derison is a mocking or scornful laughter aimed at expressing contempt or ridicule. It enhances doubt and deflates faith.
It has been observed that when a new year comes like this men of God usually come up with various words for individuals, families, organisations and the nation.
Despite the avalanche of fake prophets and self seeking Apostles, it is my humble opinion that once you have settled with the man God has been sending to you, beware and avoid the mistake or the error of limiting God’s power with laughter of derison and doubt the way Abraham and Sarah tried to limit God to the level of their understanding!!! BUT THERE IS NO SEARCHING FOR THE UNDERSTANDING AND POWER OF GOD!!!
In our scriptural reference above, we read about how God was discussing with Abraham and the man fell on his face, laughed and wondered whether a child will be born by a ninety nine years old man?.
We also read in Genesis 18:12 as follows;
” Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?”
This is another follow up to the earlier laughter by Abraham, even Sarah also felt she was too old to give birth to a child. WHY WOULD YOU LIMIT GOD BY THIS DERISON LAUGHTER, YES YOU AT THIS POINT IN TIME?
Is it not written in Jeremiah 32:27 that:
“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?”
It must be said again that eventually Sarah was again found laughing when eventually God gave her the child she was asking for.(Genesis 21:1-4)
Two laughters of derison equals one (Isaac)son, right!!!
My counsel today beloved reader is explicitly stated in II Chronicles 20:20..
” So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.”
God has purposed a purpose and there is no one who can roll it back.
It is your responsibility to get to know what God is saying for this new year. The word of God in Proverbs 25:2 is very instructive here..
” It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.”
Beware, God may speak to you directly about His good thought towards you and in your future
don’t despise God’s programme with a doubters laughter.
God may speak to you indirectly through even unlikely vessel or unexpected channel, be careful to weigh the prophesy in the light of God’s written word.
You could also appropriate the response of Mary when an angel came to inform her about the birth of a saviour through her. She said in
Luke 1:38 NKJV
” Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.”
PONDER ON THIS MATTER AND PRAY ABOUT IT.

6. Jeremiah 29:11- Father let your will be fully done in my life and destiny this year and beyond in a landmark manner in Jesus’ name.
