Text: Judges 7:1-3, Isaiah 42:8.
” Then Jerubbaal (that is, Gideon) and all the people who were with him rose early and encamped beside the well of Herod, so that the camp of the Midianites was on the north side of them by the hill of Moreh in the valley. [2] And the Lord said to Gideon, “The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’ [3] Now therefore, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is fearful and afraid, let him turn and depart at once from Mount Gilead.’ ” And twenty-two thousand of the people returned, and ten thousand remained.”
” I am the Lord, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images.”
Greetings of glory to glory to you beloved reader and friend wherever you may be connecting with us for today’s edition of your sizzling feast of the word and prayer worldover.
In the New King James Version of II Corinthians 3:18, the word of life says:
” But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord”
In this light we passionately trust God that:
God will remove any and every form of veil blocking your spiritual vision.
You will see through and beyond human limits.
Every area of your life will therefore be transformed to a better version.
You will be upgraded from glory to glory in the wonder working name of Jesus. AMEN & AAAMEN.
Today we are sharing the second part of this topic, talking about Uncommon Insights For Thanksgiving.
One major reason you should constantly thank God is that thanklessness smells of taking Gods glory and this is explosively dangerous.
God does not toy with His glory and hates sharing His glory with any man. This is made explicitly clear from our second scriptural reference. If you meditatively look at this verse(Isaiah 42:8) again, you will discover that The glory of God is synonymous with:
#…His name and identity!!!
#…His Praise.
That is why it is self destructive to share God’s glory in any form or shape.
It might interest you to know that this is one of the reasons why God prefers to choose and use people the word of God categorised as foolish!!!
Take a deep look at the following verses of God’s word for instance.
II Corinthians 4:7 NKJV
[7] But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
I Corinthians 1:27 NKJV
” But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;”
Further more we have also found out that the Almighty God who knows all things and is also the discerner of the thoughts of the heart knows when a fellow is predisposed to taking God’s glory.
God saw through the heart of the majority of members of Gideon’s army and he disqualified most of them. This is shown in our first scriptural reference above. Develop a heart of thanksgiving so that God will not cast you aside.
BEWARE OF INGRATITUDE DEAR FRIEND.
Finally we have found out that sharing God’s glory can precipitate premature death as it was the case with King Herod in Acts 12:21-23
” So on a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an oration to them. [22] And the people kept shouting, “The voice of a god and not of a man!” [23] Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died.”
PONDER ON THIS MATTER AND PRAY ABOUT IT.
Let us pray.
1. Psalm 92:1- Father I have realized that it is a good thing to thank you Lord, glory be to you in Jesus’ name.
2. Psalm 40:1-Father thank you for inclining your ears to my cry, thanks a lot sir in Jesus’ name.
3. Psalm 40:2-Father, thanks a lot for the four fold blessings you have loaded me with, what a wonderful God you have been and will ever be to me in Jesus’ name.
4. Psalm 40-3-Father, thank you for putting a new song of victory, and celebration in my mouth all these while and thank you for your better plan and agenda for my life in Jesus’ name.
5. Psalm 34:1- Father your praises for ever will never depart from my mouth and your glory is forever reserved for you Lord in Jesus’ name.
6. Psalm.41:13-Father blessed be the God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting, Lord you are awesome forever in Jesus’ name.
7. Proverbs 6:5- Father, I stand against and deliver myself from any form of ingratitude now in Jesus’ name
